Welcome to the Big Lake Community Food Shelf Website
The Big Lake Community Food Shelf is a 501 [c] non-profit organization founded in 1995 by a group of citizens with the Big Lake area. This group of individuals saw the need to help those within their community with access to emergency food assistance.
Today the Board of Directors, along with a dedicated group of volunteers, continues to serve those within the Big Lake community with emergency food access as well as providing additional resources and assistance with supplemental programs through federal, state and county agencies. The food shelf takes pride in providing a leadership role in supporting and providing education and resources for those within the community.
Each year, thousands of local companies support the Greater Twin Cities United Way or Sherburne County Area United Way through a workplace campaign. You can indicate on your card, your dollars to the Big Lake Community Food Shelf. Over 90% of all dollars raised goes towards purchasing food for those in our community.
